Higlue 242 Thread locking agent Thread Locker

HiGlue 242 is a medium strength, medium viscosity, methacrylate-based threadlocking adhesive offering general purpose qualities.
The product provides quick fixture times on steel, brass and stainless steel of 5, 15 and 20 min respectively. 242 is thixotropic to prevent migration after application and is intended for fasteners that require normal disassembly with standard hand tools.

Application

1, General, thixotropic viscosity.
2, For M6 ~ M20 thread locking and sealing.
3, Can be used for ordinary tools to disassemble, has some lubrication to the load clamping precision.



How to use

The ordinary glue lock is used and the spanner can be disassembled. If the high strength glue lock is used, the spanner can not be directly disassembled. At this time, the bolt and nut should be heated to 260 degrees, and the heat can be disassembled.

  Medium Strength (Blue): Designed to be removable with standard hand tools on 1⁄4" to 3⁄4" fasteners,like 242 243 262 263
  High Strength (Red): Designed to deliver high strength on 1⁄4" to 3⁄4" (6 mm to 22 mm) fasteners. For removal, it may require localized heat (>550°F/260°C), hand tools, and disassembly while hot,like 271 272 290

 

2. Viscosity
   Liquid Formulas: Everyday assembly; ideal for fine threads and blind holes
   Semisolid Formulas: Pocket-friendly, ideal for overhead applications
   Tape Formula: Pocket-friendly; controlled application; can be pre-applied several days before assembly

3. Application Methods
   Pre-Applied: QuickTape threadlocker can be applied beforehand on bolts that are waiting to be assembled
   Pre-Assembly: Most HiGlue liquid threadlockers are designed to be applied at the moment that can be assembled
   Post-Assembly: Wicking grade formula can be applied on parts that are already assembled
